HOW TO ADOPT
The first thing we suggest for all potential puppy owners is that you take the time to become educated about our fabulous Goldendoodles. You need to read About the Breed page and look at the hundreds of pictures in our Alumni album. Once you decide that you want one of our special little Goldendoodle puppies, you need to decide which coat type you like (curly vs. fluffy/shaggy). You also need to decide which gender you prefer. Then you need to learn about the different generations so you can choose the type that best suits your needs.
If you would like to adopt one of our puppies, we ask that you complete the adoption application form and mail it back to us at Bittersweet Farm, 364 Lear Hill Road, Newport, NH 03773 along with your deposit of $250. Once your application is approved, you will be contact by email or phone to discuss available or upcoming puppies. Please keep in mind that our puppies are very popular AND we are trying to match your needs and overall physical preferences, so wait times can vary. We do occasionally have puppies available that can be adopted immediately.
- If we do not have an available puppy that is the perfect match for you, once your application is accept, you will be placed on our Wait List until the expected litter is born. This guarantees that we are offering you the right color, gender and generation.
- Please note that specific color/sex could increase your wait time.
Visitation policy is a scheduled visit when your puppy’s litter is 6-7 weeks old. We want to meet you & know you are anxious to meet us & all the dogs. First & foremost is the safety of protecting your puppy against viruses. If we allow people to come & go when the puppies are very young, the risk is much higher.
We are happy to talk with you in detail, so that we are both comfortable with each other & know it is the right fit between us.
PUPPY WAIT LIST
Folks come to choose their puppy when the litter is 6-7 weeks old by appointment. This allows us to get to know the puppies and to assist you in matching the puppy’s personality with that of its new owner. Puppies are selected in the order in which we receive the completed Puppy Adoption application form. If you don’t see the perfect puppy in the litter when it comes your pick, you are welcome to wait for a future litter.
The total fee for a puppy is $950.00. A deposit of $250 is required when you submit your puppy application that will be applied to the total fee. Payment in full is due on the date you pick up your puppy at 8 weeks old. We don't accept personal checks for final payment. Cash or certified check are accepted.
