About Adopting a Retiring Mama Dog
* If you are considering adopting a retiring mama dog, please take into consideration that it will take a few weeks to a month for the dog to adjust to her new lifestyle. Here at Bittersweet Farm, they are part of the "pack" where they enjoy being with their dog friends. They enjoy being turned loose in the kennels to play or going on a hike with us on the farm. They will walk on a leash, but will require some training, since they don't walk on a leash on a regular basis. They will need to learn about being out and about in the world. Their life will be a completely new adventure and they will adapt with love and patience. We just want you to realize that it won't be an immediate adjustment. However, if you're willing to put in some quality time and effort, you will have a wonderful lifelong companion!
Meet "Sally"
Sally is retiring and coming available!
Sally is a gorgeous standard size English Goldendoodle. She is six years old and is a good size gal, weighing close to 70 lbs. She is up to date on vaccinations, worming and heartworm and flea/tick medications. She has had complete genetic testing through Embark Vet and is in excellent health. She is scheduled to be spayed the first week of November and will be ready to leave us about two weeks after her surgery.
Sally has a quiet, reserved personality. She is wonderful with folks she knows, but will take a bit to warm up to new folks. She is not used to children. We are looking for a quiet home for her, preferably with another docile dog, a fenced yard and someone who has sufficient time to devote to this wonderful gal. She has no bad habits and is very sweet. She is excellent with grooming, nail trims and baths.
